There are three groups of indexes currently under development here. All have been built as simple Author and Title data files without, at this stage, any additional keywords or content summaries.
The indexes for the Cave Survey Group's newsletter 'Compass Points' and the Cave Radio Group's Journal are now up-to date. However, whilst the Surveying and some provisional 'Cave Radio' subject codes have been implemented; about a third of the articles from Creg Journal are still uncoded. The basic Author or Title searches will work fine.
The index to the Peak District Mines Historical Society's Bulletin, which is based on Dave Williams' earlier work, has now been checked and is virtually complete. The latest additions are a few hundred references from the Northern Cavern and Mine Research Society's Memoirs and earlier Transactions. Author or Title searches will work on all these files; but a more suitable set of Subjects is still being developed.
The index to the University of Bristol Spelaeological Society's Proceedings, spanning all twenty-three volumes from 1920 to date, is virtually complete; awaiting only the verification of some time delimited Archaeology subject codings.
All of these indexes use slightly modified versions of the simple Perl script which was first written by Derek Cousins in October 1999 for the main Science Indexes on the BCRA website.
